Oskar

Stock, replenishment and shipping

Stock and coverage per location, order proposals with quantity, pallet grid and date, goods receipt, load planning and customs papers. A proposal names one number, with the uncertainty set beside it as a flagged assumption.

Oskar is software. One human is accountable: Alexander Falk.

Oskar as a drawn figure in a warehouse aisle, measuring a carton on a pallet with a folding ruler.

A proposal from Oskar

This is what a change looks like before it takes effect.

Before, after and the rule behind it. Only once you approve does Oskar write to your system.

Proposal from Oskarawaiting your yes

Round the order quantity to the pallet grid

beforeorder: 137 pieces
afterorder: 144 pieces # 6 pallets of 24
cover: until the next delivery
fundable: checked by finance

Example. Rule: Quantity in the pallet grid; whether it can be paid for is decided by finance. Nothing is written until you click “Approve”.

The process

How Oskar works

Works from: Stock per location, sales history, inbound goods, pack dimensions and the lead times of your supply chain.

  1. Establish ownership

First, who owns the goods. Being in your warehouse does not prove it.

  2. Check the rate

Sales plus demand that went unserved for lack of stock, without one-offs. He treats launch curves and seasons as traps, not trends.

  3. Lead-time chain

He derives the period from every lead time in the chain and marks each link as documented or assumed.

  4. Calculate demand

Demand from rate, period, stock and inbound, rounded to the load grid and never topped up.

  5. Affordability

The proposal goes to the finance side. It checks amount and liquidity and can overturn it.

  6. You decide

    Order

Orders are placed after your approval, and booked only after a preview.

Result

What you have at the end

  • An order proposal with one number instead of a range
  • Pallet count, load type and date
  • Marked assumptions and the shipping documents

Tailoring

Tailored to your business

Oskar is not off-the-shelf software. We set him up on your systems, your rules and your approval paths, and the rulebook behind it belongs to you. Tailored, for example:

  • Your locations and service providers
  • Your lead times and load grids
  • Your rules for minimum stock and liquidity

The limit

What Oskar does not do

He does not do the money: whether a quantity can be financed is for finance to say. And he does not pad a load just to fill the container.

Character

How to recognise Oskar

  • Commits to a number
  • Shows his uncertainty openly
  • Sober against euphoria
  • Distrusts silence
  • Packs honestly
  • Checks rather than infers

Works best with Franzi. His proposal goes to her before it goes out. She never talks him out of a pallet, she tells him from what quantity it becomes affordable.

Favourite line

“Know what is on the shelf, and you know what is missing.”

How Oskar greets you: “Which company are we counting for? Then you get one number from me, not a range.”
